INTERNATIONAL PADDLE SHARING, KE'EHI LAGOON, JULY 18 2008

Ka Mamalahoe Club members Scotty Thompson, Russ Swaney, Ted Kunishige, Lisa Bento, Fred To'omata, Frank Deniz, and Julie McLaughlin took time out to share the joy of canoe paddling with 25 teens from 14 countries.  The homes of these youth range from locations such as Belgium, Mongolia, Israel, and Germany, but they all shared one common goal-to have good time.  Today's adventure was just one stop on a twenty-day cultural program sponsored by the Lions Club of Hawaii.  Since their arrival (July 9th) the youth have experienced working in a Taro Patch (Lo'i), surfing, swimming and Hawaiian games, just to name a few.  Here's some of the days action.  Sorry...there was no one to take the actual paddling shots.
