Frank & Lisa's Trip Home to the Big Island, Sep 1-10, 2006

Lisa and Frank managed to find time during the hectic Queen Lilliuoukalani Race Weekend to visit family and places that were a part of their history.  First was a weekend hike from historic Waipio Valley to Waimanu Valley, (16 mile roundtrip).  Then a visit to Franks childhood stomping ground in the village of Miloli'i, the last Hawaiian fishing village in the state.

Early stages of the clim up the "z trail" of Waipio Valley

Lisa, half way up the trail...only 8 more miles and six more valleys to go!!
